A few weeks ago, as I mentioned here, we took a few days to unplug and unwind. Because it was a last minute decision and we had prior plans for the start of our weekend, we went to St. Josesph, Michigan for some wine tasting and relaxation. We stayed at the South Cliff Inn, an adorable B&B with the most delicious breakfast! Although I left my computer behind and kept my phone on silent most of the weekend, we still took photos of course!
Here is a little recap of our weekend: After celebrating homecoming at Illinois State University (David's alma mater), we drove to Michigan and started the relaxation with wine and beer tasting at Round Barn Winery and Brewery. After Round Barn, we headed up the country road for a delicious dinner and more wine tasting at Tabor Hill Winery & Vineyard. Not only was the food incredible, but we had a gorgeous view of the sunset over the vineyard. The next morning we set out for some hiking around Warren Dunes State Park, followed of course, by more wine tasting.
On our last day, we stumbled into a great little gelato shop attached to non-profit art studio called Glassworks. It was such an unexpected treat - we got a tour of the studio and got to watch several students during a glass blowing class. This studio has an art/job skills programs for underprivileged kids, with 100% of the proceeds from the gelato and the glass works sold in the shop going back to the program. This studio and the students we met were such an inspiration! We learned that every student who has been a part of the 2-year program has gone on to attend college, each with either a major or minor in the arts! With my love of jewelry making and metalsmithing (and the question of whether art school might have been a better decision than law school popping up every now and then), I was instantly in love with this program! Although I wish I could have purchased the entire store, we decided the hand-blown glass pumpkin in the middle above was the right little guy to bring home with us!
Overall, it was such an enjoyable trip with good food, good wine, and great company! What more could a girl ask for? Please, stop back by tomorrow for a better outfit recap.
Thanks for reading!

It looks like you had a great time! St. Joe is just the best! (My husband and I are from the area, call me biased.) I just realized that I wasn't officially following you... but now I am (via GFC) :)

I graduated last May from a top law school in CA. -Lol, I realize that lawyers can decipher this code into narrowing me down to 2 schools, but I have personal reasons for remaining anonymous. But I otherwise would love to connect. Whether to discuss fashion or law. <3
