Although we have a warm front coming through this week (woo hoo 40's!!), my clothing decisions are largely dictated by the weather. I spend a lot of time walking outside, to and from the courthouse, back and forth from depositions, to and from the parking garage. Although I love the beauty and sparkle of a snow covered city, I am not a fan of cold weather. This wool tweed suit has been amazing for the winter. The pants are lined (necessary with wool so they are not itchy) for an added layer of warmth. And, I have knee-high socks with high boots on. When the wind blows, the only parts of my body that feel cold are my face (rosy cheeks aren't a bad thing, right?) and the area around my knees! Quite an amazing feat in the windy city!
Not only is the suit warm, it has those little touches I love. The leather patches near the shoulders add a but of edge. Pleating on the blazer helps provide shape in a heavier fabric. Wide leg pants are a nice departure from my usual tailored trouser. Leather trim on the pockets and the rear finish it all off nicely.
How is it that you guys stay warm, but professional in the winter? Please do share, I can use all the advice I can get on braving the winter months.
Thanks for reading!
