I must admit, I was really disappointed in my ability to find items similar to my outfit for today's post. I guess that is inevitable when I wear clothes that have been in my closet for years. Yes, the majority of my wardrobe has been gathered over the past 5-10 years! I do an annual clean out and (force myself to) get rid of items I haven't worn in a long time, don't fit anymore, or are just plain ugly. Yes, I am guilty of having purchased some truly ugly items! But, I strongly believe that it takes years to really develop a good, diverse wardrobe.

In this outfit, my tank and cardigan, pants, shoes, and belt (which actually looks neon in person) were all over 3 years old! The scarf, earrings, and bracelet were newer items - these became the focal point of my outfit. Neon yellow isn't really a color that is easy to wear in a professional environment. Because I couldn't resist the trend, I tried to incorporate it in accessories paired with neutral, classic cut pieces. Although I wish I could purchase an entirely new wardrobe and give into all of my shopping urges, those law school loans just don't allow for that. So, in the meantime, I'll keep trying to restyle the pieces I already own by updating them with new accessories, while throwing a few new, major purchases into the mix...c'mon, I can't resist all the time!
