Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! As you can see, I spent some quality time the kitchen at my parents' house with my mom! Isn't she adorable?! Although she was hesitant, I convinced her to make an appearance on my blog! We were looking for comfortable clothes, especially pants that had some stretch! These photos really do not do our meal justice. In the past, I had never been a huge fan of the food on Thanksgiving. In recent years though, my sister and my mom have really amp'd up their cooking skills and created some amazing dishes. It was one of the first years I was looking forward to leftovers!

I'll admit, my mom has had an incredible influence on my sense of style. A lot of the jewelry and scarves I wear are borrowed from her closet. When you have a mom with fashion sense, there really is no reason to own two of everything, right?! We usually never pair a scarf or piece of jewelry with the same clothes, but we often use each other as inspiration for how to remix out basics. In recent years, especially because I work in a more conservative field, I have noticed her influence more and more in my wardrobe. I would describe my mom's style as classic, but never basic.  While I tend to be drawn to more basic pieces, like t-shirts under my suits instead of blouses, I like to think I follow in my mom's style footsteps!

Thanks for reading!

  4. Yams! I can't believe we forgot the marshmallow yams for Thanksgiving!! Ahh!!

On an unrelated note, when I used to live in the same town as my mom, I would borrow her clothes and accessories all the time. Your mom definitely has a great style :)
