Beaded Chain Links and Pleated Front Pants

Pleated front pants! While I absolutely love this shape and style, a word of caution: pleated front, tapered leg, crops are likely not the most flattering pants a woman can own. The pleated front and the tapered leg both add weight around the hips. Most of us don't want to make that part of our bodies look any bigger. The cropped length definitely isn't making me look any taller either. I've tried pairing these pants with blazers, and the baggy butt, combined with the length just, just make me look frumpy. That being said, these pants are super comfortable yet dressy enough to pair with basics and still look work appropriate. And, I apparently like to keep my hands in my pockets while wearing them! While I'm sure these pant would look great with a blazer on someone else, I think there are certain pieces of clothing that just aren't as great styled certain ways. I'm not saying these pants aren't versatile, because they are, it is just that I need to be aware of their limitations when it comes to what makes them figure flattering on me - just as we should with all clothing I guess.  

This necklace is one more thing I stole from my mom's jewelry box. She hadn't worn it yet, tags still on it and all, and I nabbed it! You can't tell from the photos, but the sparkle of the chain and crystal is gorgeous when the light hits it. Because it is such a chunky necklace, I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit simple and let the necklace be the focus.
